We believe that, when monitoring, for us, hummingbird safety is the most critical priority. For many years HMN’s tool builder, Lee Rogers, has provided the Network with excellent trapping tools, innovative banding equipment, and thoroughly crafted instruments for making bands.
These unique tools have been designed for hummingbird studies. They are custom-made for those who are permitted to band and handle hummingbirds.
Our primary purpose with this program is to create suitable materials for hummingbird research and become an important source of tools and kits for the public interested in hummingbird monitoring and research.
