Here's the details:
August 31 – September 10, 2022
AMNH Southwestern Research Station, Portal, Arizona
The workshop’s primary goal is to develop and improve the skills needed to band hummingbirds safely. Techniques taught are approved by the North American Banding Council and consistent with the Banders' Code of Ethics. This workshop is a first step in becoming a permitted hummingbird bander, and preference will be given to those interested in joining HMN's coordinated monitoring program. At the end of the workshop, participants' skill levels will vary, and not all will master the skills needed to band hummingbirds safely. For those who master these skills, the next step to becoming a permitted hummingbird bander will vary and be discussed individually. Limited scholarships are available for Latin American participants.
